WebStray characters usually has to do with the source encoding. The “null character (s) ignored” diagnostic would generally indicate that the source code is UTF-16 or UTF-32. Nothing wrong with copy and paste, you just have to check it all, as you might get duplicated lables, variables, and add up all those { } one missing and your program has a hole in it.... Word can and does add it's own formatting codes, that might confuse the compiler, etc.
